Kingsport school tuition to lower for non-city residents next year.

The Kingsport Board of Education voted Tuesday night to lower tuition rates for non-city residents. The newly approved tuition rates for non-Kingsport residents in Tennessee will be $1,000 per year per student. Tuition for students of city and school system employees will be $500. Out-of-state tuition will remain unchanged. The tuition rate changes, which will start next school year, come after school officials noticed the school system’s tuition was significantly higher than other system’s rates.
