Bristol State Liners still will no field as season approaches
The Bristol State Liners are still looking for a place to play their home games for the upcoming 2024 Appalachian League season. Bristol State Liners President & GM Mahlon Luttrell confirming Thursday in comments to media, that Boyce Cox Field in Bristol, Virginia is not an option. The State Liners announced last July they would be moving from Boyce Cox Field to a new field at Whitetop Creek Park in Bristol, Tennessee. The new field will not be ready for the 2024 season. Bristol, VA City Manager Randy Eads said in the same report that Bristol Baseball Inc., which operates the State Liners, would not agree to one of the terms the city presented. Eads also said the offer of still stands for use of the stadium if Bristol Baseball, Inc. would agree to the city’s terms. The Bristol State Liners are scheduled to open their season on June 4th with the first home game to be played June 13th.
