Labor Department: Morristown plant employed kids as young as 14
A Morristown company must set aside more than $1 million to financially aid 10 underage children who were working in the plant.
The Labor Department report said immigrant juveniles as young as 14 used dangerous machinery at the Tuff Torq facility.
A company spokesperson said the kids were referred by a staffing agency and they used fake IDs and credentials to get hired.
Tuff Torq, a Japanese company that makes parts for several companies including John Deere, was also issued a $300,000 fine.
