Bristol VA School Board approves spending plan
The Bristol Virginia School Board has approved a $49.75 million spending plan for the fiscal year as the district is making plans to consolidate. Construction at the new intermediate school underway. When complete and the school is ready for students, Highland View, Washington-Lee and Stonewall Jackson Elementary Schools will be consolidated onto the new school campus. Officials say consolidation combined with the loss of federal funds will lead to some positions being cut. Most of those cuts will be support positions.
