NETN communities to receive state grant money for water and sewer system planning
Several communities in the Northeast Tennessee region are receiving grant funding to help with long-term planning of water and sewer systems. Gov. Bill Lee and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced nearly $11 million to be distributed statewide as part of the Infrastructure Planning Grant program. The IPG program supports utility systems that serve distressed counties and rural communities on the referral list. Utility systems receiving this funding, can be used for projects such as water system mapping and modeling, sewer system analysis, asset management-related activities and regionalization studies.
