Score: Tennessee, Virginia achieve legal victory over NCAA and NIL enforcement
A legal victory for Tennessee and Virginia.
Federal Court Judge Clinton Corker ruled in favor of the states and issued a preliminary injunction that essentially makes it harder for the NCAA to enforce the name, image, and likeness policy for athletes.
The decision is instant, so students being recruited or in the transfer portal can resume negotiations or sign their NIL contracts. State legal teams argued that the NCAA continuously changed the NIL rules to fit their decisions.
