Investigation into former school fire in Bristol underway
What remained of the historic school building along Oak Street in Bristol, Virginia, was torn down Tuesday. A fire engulfed the empty structure and caught a near by building on fire. It had been vacant for nearly a decade and a half. The demolition started shortly after the fire had been extinguished, due to partial walls that were still standing and at risk of falling. Investigators are sifting through the debris searching for any potential victims, and any indication as to the start of the fire. According to investigators, there was no electricity running to the building.
