Q.E.P. files second WARN notice this year
A Johnson City flooring plant announcing a second round of permanent layoffs in this year. A WARN Notice has been filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development and says Q.E.P. Co., Inc.’s latest layoff will affect three employees. Q.E.P., which operated the Harris flooring plant in Johnson City, said the “permanent closure” would take effect on Nov. 30, with a separation date of Dec. 31. Q.E.P. previously laid off 87 workers effective in August.
