Deadly Memorial Day Weekend In Virginia

The 2023 Memorial Day weekend proved deadly for nine individuals who were killed in seven traffic crashes across the Commonwealth during the extended holiday period that ended Monday at midnight. None of the crashes or deaths occurred in our southwest Virginia region. State Troopers also reported citing 4 thousand nine hundred and ninety speeders, just under two thousand reckless drivers, and arrested 89 impaired drivers.
