Report: Telford man charged with animal cruelty after setting barn on fire
A Telford man is charged with arson and animal cruelty after he allegedly set fire to a barn that dogs were chained onto. According to a report from Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Rauhof Road Thursday afternoon.
An investigation revealed that a couple had gotten into a domestic dispute, which led to the suspect, Brooks Ellis, 42, setting fire to the shared dwelling. The report says a female victim was able to escape the barn with minor injuries.
Deputies on scene were able to rescue two large dogs that were chained by the barn. Brooks Ellis was found on Indian Ridge Road in Johnson City after a short manhunt. He is being held on a $60,000 bond.
