Tennessee Department of Transportation halts interstate lane closures over Thanksgiving weekend

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says major interstates and highways will see a break in lane closures due to construction over the Thanksgiving weekend. TDOT officials say this helps accommodate larger traffic volumes on interstates, as the Thanksgiving weekend is reportedly the most traveled holiday of the year.

Lane closures due to construction will be paused on interstates and highways statewide until Monday, Nov. 28th at 6 AM. Travelers may still encounter construction workers or long-term closures, and TDOT encourages drivers to use caution this Thanksgiving weekend.
