Schools in Greene County score high proficiency marks in state evaluations
A majority of public school systems in Northeast Tennessee have earned an ‘advancing’ designation in the state education department’s annual accountability ratings.
Districts are graded on a weighted scale in several areas including English proficiency, graduation rates, and student attendance data.
Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City schools were all marked with the advancing label while Greene County and Greeneville City were ranked among the top 16 schools in the state.
The data showed Hawkins, Johnson, Rogersville City, and Unicoi County schools are classified as satisfactory.
