Washington Delegation Seeking Federal Assistance In Buchanan County

Southwest Virginia’s Senate and Congressional delegation in Washington sends a letter to President Biden, formally requesting Federal assistance with a flooding disaster in Southwest Virginia. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, along with Congressman Morgan Griffith are asking the President to approve Virginia’s request for a Major Disaster and federal assistance for Buchanan and Tazewell Counties. FEMA, so far has refused to provide assistance in the area that received seven inches of rain within several hours causing millions of dollars in damages.
