Protesters Rally For Abortion Rights, Commonwealth Lawmakers Take No Action
No action was taken by Virginia lawmakers, but dozens of abortion rights advocates held a rally on Wednesday outside Richmond’s Capitol Building. Lawmakers returned to Richmond for a one day session to select judges, but many thought Governor Glenn Youngkin would send down legislation attempting to restrict abortion in the Commonwealth. The one day session would have been lawmakers first chance to vote on abortion legislation since federal protections were struck down earlier this summer.
