Kingsport Fire Department reports no fire-related deaths in 2021
The Kingsport Fire Department responded to more than 8,000 calls in 2021, yet no fire-related deaths took place within the city last year. According to an annual report, the KFD saw an increase in the number of home and vehicle fires in 2021, yet no fatalities came with them.
The annual report also says the KFD’s average response time sat at 8 minutes, 36 seconds. Kingsport Fire Chief, Scott Boyd, says “Thankfully nobody lost their lives to fire last year in the city, and that’s always a good statistic to report.”
