Johnson City car thief arrested after being cornered on dead-end road

A man was arrested in Johnson City on Friday for theft of a motor vehicle after he was cornered by police on a dead end road. According to the JCPD, deputies responded to West Main Street on reports of a suspicious man in a vehicle reported stolen that evening.

When police attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to pull over. The suspect, Hector Flores, continued onto Garden Drive, a dead-end road, and was cornered by deputies. He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and felony evading.
