Congressional statements on Roe v Wade vary from victory to stripping women of health care

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee voiced victory after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, saying 50 years of struggle was worth the result on this day.

“…The Supreme Court has confirmed that Roe v Wade was a blatant act of judicial activism that put the fate of the unborn in the hands of unelected judges,” said Blackburn.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith of Virginia said in a statement the decision in 1972 produced decades of tragedy and Friday’s work puts the decision back in the hands of individual states.

U.S. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia said the Court’s ruling jeopardizes a women’s health and strips her of control of personal health care and gives it to politicians in state legislatures.
