Youngkin proposing suspending gas tax in Virginia to save consumers 26 cents at the pump
Governor Glenn Youngkin is proposing a three-month suspension of Virginia’s gasoline tax in an effort to help struggling consumers with a weekly inflation battle of fueling up at the pump.
While servicing motorists at a store in Henrico County, Youngkin says he plans to introduce the plan to legislators when they return for a special session to approve a two-year budget.
The governor said he would add the request with an emergency tag making the change for gas prices immediately saving consumers 26 cents per gallon.
