One Dead In Apparent Domestic Incident Involving Shots Fired

Carter County authorities are questioning a person of interest after shooting Saturday night that leaves one person dead. Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunsford says deputies were called to a residence at 120 Old Highway 19E, where they found 48 year old Franklin Lee Hamby, with a gunshot wound. Hamby was pronounced dead on the scene. Carter County investigators spoke to witnesses who state a domestic incident occurred that led to the shooting. The investigation is open and active.
