JCPD: 18-year-old in jail for attempted second degree murder
A Johnson City man is in jail for attempted second degree murder after police say he shot a victim in the hand and another in the torso. 18-year-old Ja’Mika Beard is in jail for this incident, which occurred on December 1st.
According to a police report, Beard entered the victims’ car in the area of West Eighth Avenue and Montgomery Street in Johnson City. Once Beard was in the vehicle, he shot the passenger in the hand, and the driver in their torso. Ja’Mika Beard is charged with attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the act of a felony. He was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
