UPDATE: Suspect in Soaky Mountain shooting has charged upgraded to first-degree murder
A suspect charged in a fatal shooting last summer at a Sevierville tourist attraction had her charge upgraded to first-degree murder following indictments handed down by a grand jury.
Sarah Elizabeth Romine also faces multiple counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in connection to the July 31st incident at Soaky Mountain Water Park that injured and killed Kelsy Cook, 24, and left another guest wounded.
Tennessee oversight officials suspended the park’s alcohol sales for the year shortly after the shooting.
