UPDATE: Law Enforcement Say I 26 West Incident A Pedestrian Fatality.

Tennessee Highway Patrol and Johnson City Police investigators are probing the discovery of a body lying in the road on Interstate 26 West Tuesday morning. In what was first being reported as a fatal multi vehicle crash, is now being investigated as a possible pedestrian fatality. Law enforcement were on the scene near exit 27 around seven AM Tuesday when authorities were contacted about a body found along the shoulder of Interstate 26 West near Okolona Road. The discovery of the body and investigation has closed westbound lanes until later this afternoon.
