Increased Traffic Crashes On Weaver Pike Cause For Study

With the opening of the new, Sullivan East Middle School Campus along Weaver Pike and its proximity to neighboring Sullivan East High School, State Route 358, known as the Weaver Pike Corridor is experiencing significant traffic volumes. As a result an increase in traffic crashes is also being reported. Transportation officials in Sullivan County are racing against time to submit documentation required to apply for a TDOT 2022 Urban Transportation Planning Grant to study growth in the area. The grant requires only a ten percent match from the county and must be submitted by December 30.
