University of Virginia added to schools needing a new head coach with Mendenhall resignation
University of Virginia head football coach Bronco Mendenhall has resigned from the program as a wave of coaching change comes over the landscape of college football in recent days.
The 55-year-old Mendenhall did not list specifics for leaving Charlottesville but he said he would leave the door open to coach at another school.
Mendenhall came to UVA from BYU and his native Utah. His overall record at Virginia was 36-38 including a 6-6 record this season. His best campaign came in 2019 with an ACC Coastal Division title and a trip to a New Year’s Six bowl game.
