Hokies hire Penn State’s Brent Pry as new head coach
A news conference is scheduled for Thursday in Blacksburg to announce the hiring of Brent Pry as the new head coach for Virginia Tech football.
It’s a homecoming for Pry who served as a graduate assistant for Frank Beamer and Bud Foster in the late 90s. He has been the defensive coordinator for Penn State since 2014 where his defense was ranked third in the Big 10 this year.
J.C. Price who served as interim Hokies head coach following the firing of Justin Fuente will remain on Pry’s staff as an assistant following an emotional victory over Virginia for the Commonwealth Cup.
