East Tennessee Town, Hosting Governor’s Rural Summit

A small, east Tennessee town, is the back drop Friday as Tennessee Governor Bill Lee holds his 2021 East Tennessee Rural Summit. Newport, located at the base of the Smokey Mountains is an appropriate setting for the summit, which will focus on discussions of the hardships many rural areas across the Volunteer State are currently dealing with. The Governor is holding meetings with leaders from some of the economically, hardest hit communities in the state.
