Routine traffic stop leads to felony arrest in Johnson City; drug and firearm charges

A Johnson City felon is behind bars after being arrested at a routine traffic stop on Saturday. Gregory Harper of Dyer Street in Johnson City was arrested for felony possession of a firearm, and drug charges after previously being prohibited from owning a gun. During the stop, police discovered methamphetamine as well as a loaded hi point 40 caliber handgun. Harper is being held at the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center and was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
