Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Johnson City Felon On Firearms Charge

A Johnson City felon, already prohibited from owning a gun, is behind bars on felony possession of a firearm, and additional drug charges. Gregory Harper, of Dyer Street in Johnson City was arrested following a routine traffic stop on Saturday at the intersection of E Main Street and Wichita Street. During the stop, police discovered methamphetamine as well as a loaded hi point 40 caliber handgun belonging to Harper who has restricted ownership of any firearms. Harper is being held at the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center and was scheduled for arraignment Monday.
