42 pounds of meth found, and two arrests in I-26 traffic stop
Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of 42 pounds of meth. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a speeding vehicle on I-26 near mile marker 8 around 2 a.m. Wednesday. A K-9 from the Kingsport Police Department was requested and signaled the presence of illegal drugs. 42 pounds of crystal meth, a loaded handgun, ammunition, and more than $5,600 in cash were reportedly found. 37 year old, Mark Anthony Trent, of Mount Carmel, and 51 year old, Saundra Kay Hamilton, of Kingsport were arrested. Both are facing several charges including, manufacture, sale, or possession of meth and possession of a handgun during the commission of a dangerous felony. Both are being held in the Sullivan County Jail without bond.
