4 arrested and charged in Greene County attempted murder/burglary

On October 11, Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a burglary in progress and a shooting at a home located on Old Stage Rd. The department’s Criminal Investigation Division responded and is investigating this incident. Previously, three people were identified as being involved. Two were taken into custody and one remained at large until last week when the third suspect, 29 year old Trevonde “TJ” Conner, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Detroit, Michigan and is awaiting extradition back to Greene County. On October 29, a fourth person was identified as being part of the incident and arrested. 39 year old William Justin Smith of Afton, was taken into custody and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and multiple charges related to the incident. Smith is being held in the Greene County Detention Center with is court date set for November 13th.
