$3.1 Million in grant funding for broadband availability coming to Washington Co TN
More than $3.1 million in grant funding will expand broadband availability and digital opportunities in Washington County, Tennessee. State Representatives Rebecca Alexander and Tim Hicks announced Monday that Washington County will receive three grants as part of $101.6 million in overall funding administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The grants will provide broadband access and digital opportunities to more than 97,000 Tennesseans across 75 counties, according to a news release. Cloudwise Academy LLC and National Independent Venue Foundation received grants to advance digital skills and workforce development. TAF Rural Expansion Foundation received $1.98 million to enable broadband access. Grant recipients are required to complete their projects by Dec. 31, 2026.
